Book 1, Chapter XII (12):
Quixote and Sancho often talk for hours while they travel across the plains of La Mancha. In this quote Don Quixote expresses is satisfaction in noticing that Sancho is becoming less stupid; the cause of this being, no doubt, the time he spends in his company.
"Cada día, Sancho
-dijo don Quijote-, te vas haciendo menos simple y más discreto."
- With every day
that passes by, dear Sancho, you lose some foolishness and gain some sense.
